Privacy Policy for BoldVoice Vowel Progress Coach

BoldVoice Vowel Progress Coach is an unofficial browser extension published by NikoKit Extensions. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced by BoldVoice.

Data the extension uses

The extension reads the vowel focus, anchor information, and related page information displayed by the BoldVoice Vowel Map when necessary to provide live feedback, guided pronunciation practice, progress tracking, and related training features.

The extension stores training information such as the selected sound, current curriculum position, practice attempts, correct and incorrect results, accuracy, coverage, skips, timestamps, daily summaries, and settings.

Local storage

Training data and settings are stored locally in the user's browser using Chrome extension storage. If that storage API is unavailable, the extension may use browser local storage as a fallback.

NikoKit Extensions does not receive a server-side copy of this locally stored training data.

Audio and microphone data

The extension does not record, store, upload, or transmit microphone recordings or audio data to NikoKit Extensions or to a third party. Optional success sounds are generated locally in the browser.

Microphone and pronunciation functionality provided by the BoldVoice website may be subject to BoldVoice's own privacy practices.

Data sharing

NikoKit Extensions does not sell, rent, or share user training data with advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, or other third parties. The extension does not use this data for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, or lending decisions.

Analytics and tracking

The extension does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics services. It does not collect general browsing history, credentials, cookies, camera data, payment information, personal communications, or personally identifiable information.

Data retention and deletion

Locally stored extension data remains in Chrome until the user clears the extension data, clears browser storage, or removes the extension. The extension has no server-side retention period because it does not upload training information.

Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

The use of information received from the BoldVoice Vowel Map and Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

This information is used only to provide and improve the extension's single purpose and user-facing pronunciation-training features. The extension does not transfer this information for advertising or other unrelated purposes.

Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated if the extension's data practices change. The latest version will always be available on this page.
